Can I join the tour as a solo traveller?

Absolutely. Many of our guests join the tour on their own, and our small-group format makes it easy to feel comfortable and connected with fellow travellers.

Solo travellers are warmly welcomed, and the journey is designed to be friendly, relaxed and supportive for everyone in the group.

No — you don’t have to share a room.

We offer single-occupancy accommodation for guests who prefer their own private room. A small additional supplement applies to cover the cost difference charged by hotels.

If you’re travelling alone but would prefer to share with another guest, we can also discuss that option depending on availability.

Yes. We regularly welcome solo female travellers.

The tour is hosted throughout, travel is organised with trusted local partners, and accommodation is carefully selected for comfort and reliability. Our small-group environment also helps create a supportive and friendly atmosphere where travellers quickly feel at ease.

Yes. All guests are required to hold comprehensive travel insurance for the duration of the tour.

Travel insurance provides important protection in case of unexpected events such as trip cancellations, medical situations, or travel delays. We recommend arranging insurance soon after confirming your booking.

This is primarily a cultural and sightseeing journey, rather than a physically demanding tour.

There will be moderate walking when exploring cities, forts, temples and markets. Most activities can be enjoyed at a relaxed pace, but guests should feel comfortable walking for short periods and managing occasional steps or uneven surfaces at historic sites.

If you have any concerns about mobility, please contact us and we’ll be happy to discuss the details.

Accommodation has been carefully selected for our Kiwi hosted tours to reflect the character and heritage of the region while providing modern comfort.

During the journey you will stay in a combination of heritage hotels, comfortable resorts and a desert camp experience, offering a memorable and authentic stay while ensuring a high level of comfort.

Our Kiwi hosted tours include a combination of hotel breakfasts and selected group dinners throughout the journey.

This allows guests to enjoy some meals together while also having the flexibility to explore local dining options independently.

Your hosts and guides will be happy to recommend restaurants and local dishes to try.

To keep the experience relaxed and personal, group sizes are intentionally limited.

Travelling in a small group allows for a more enjoyable pace, easier interaction with guides and locals, and the opportunity to connect with fellow travellers along the journey.

Travel sometimes involves unexpected situations such as weather changes or operational adjustments.

If this occurs, your hosts and our local partners will make appropriate adjustments to ensure the journey continues smoothly while maintaining the quality of the overall experience.

Yes. Most dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice.

Please let us know when booking if you have any dietary needs so we can inform our hotel and restaurant partners ahead of time.

To reserve your place, simply complete the booking form and pay the required deposit.

Once your booking is confirmed, we will send you a detailed guest information pack with everything you need to prepare for the journey.

Diwali, often called the Festival of Lights, is one of India’s most celebrated festivals.

Cities and homes are illuminated with thousands of lamps, fireworks fill the night sky, and families gather to celebrate with food, music and traditions that have been passed down for generations.

Experiencing Diwali in the historic desert city of Jaisalmer is a truly unforgettable cultural moment.

We recommend booking at least 2–3 months in advance, especially during peak travel seasons, to ensure availability of hotels and experiences.

International flights are generally not included. However, we can provide guidance on recommended flight options from New Zealand to India.

If you need to cancel or modify your booking, please contact us as soon as possible. Our team will guide you through the available options according to the booking terms and conditions.

The best time to visit most parts of India is between October and March, when the weather is cooler and ideal for sightseeing.

Light clothing, comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, and travel essentials are recommended. If travelling in winter months, warmer clothing may be needed in some regions.
